18 weeks and I look like
... no actual pictures this week. Although, maybe one of these days I'll get week 13 sonogram pictures up here. Tony scanned them, but I don't know to where.
So doodlebug is the size of a bellpepper this week.

Head to rump, your baby is about 5 1/2 inches long (about the length of a bell pepper) and he weighs almost 7 ounces. He's busy flexing his arms and legs — movements that you'll start noticing more and more in the weeks ahead. His blood vessels are visible through his thin skin, and his ears are now in their final position, although they're still standing out from his head a bit. A protective covering of myelin is beginning to form around his nerves, a process that will continue for a year after he's born. If you're having a girl, her uterus and fallopian tubes are formed and in place. If you're having a boy, his genitals are noticeable now, but he may hide them from you during an ultrasound.

Telling a few people
So as you probably know we told some people recently that we are expecting our first child. We are so excited and love some of the reactions that we have gotten.
The first person that we told was my sister Robin. We called her the morning after our second beta. That is the blood test done to check HCG levels. My first test had come back with good numbers and we were feeling good about things. Tony was busting at the seems to tell someone the exciting news. So we called Robin at work and told her the news. After asking if we were sure a number of times she cried. It was great!! She then informed me I had to tell mom immediately. So we went and bought a few baby items for Grandma's house and called and told her to meet us for lunch. So we had the manager bring over the bag of stuff when we were eating. She was surprised, but said she was wondering since I had been vague about my dr. appointment. She teared up and covered her face. It was fun to tell her.
We told Grandpa, Tom & Patty Pearson, Fr. Duffy, Katie. Grandma and Uncle Kurt already knew the news, but were with us also. Sunday night mom made dinner for dad's birthday. It was a big one... he turned 60! Anyway, we had a great time. We had just finished dinner and it was decided that it was time for dad to open presents. He opened gifts from Katie and Tom & Patty and then it was our turn.
A little backstory on this - mom and dad had been to Pearson's for New Year's dinner. Tom had shown my dad the pack n play that they had for Luke and Pearson at their house (that's their cute grandson's). Dad apparently thought it was pretty cool contraption and talked about it after seeing it. After we had told mom, we had asked for a suggestion of a good way to tell dad for his birthday. So she let us know that a pack n play would be a good idea for him. So we were on a mission to find one. So he opened the pack n play and said, "What the hell is a pack n play?" Patty in turn yelled and covered her mouth (which was priceless) and so then she asked us if we were pregnant. So we of course replied with, "YES!!" I don't think that dad still quite got it though. Then he opened the picture frame that said "I <3 grandpa" that had our first sono picture in it. He definantly didn't know what that was, but then we explained it. So congratulations from all were had.
Then we told some other family, Jill and Danny, on the way home. They were all so excited for us.
The following weekend we told Scott and Lisa. We went to meet them for dessert at Patrizio's. Luckily we got there before we did and were able to have the manager put "congrats uncle scott" on their dessert plate. Scott's face was great! I think he had to read the plate twice before it clicked what it meant, but I'm sure I'd be the same way. Lisa was also happy for us and asked if she got to be a pseudo aunt.
We have slowly been telling more people and are excited about officially telling everyone soon.
